Mohave GOP Candidate for CD2 Charles Black Withdraws Endorsement for Jim Deakin
KINGMAN - Effective today Arizona Congressional Candidate Charles Black withdraws his endorsement and support for GOP candidate Jim Deakin in his race for the US Senate Race in Arizona. An accumulation of events have culminated in this decision. “I can no longer support his candidacy due to a variety of factors the weigh heavily on my heart” Black said.

The most recent event, publication of the proposed itinerary for a border trip last Thursday, in clear violation of necessary security arrangements was the final event that caused Mr. Black to decide on this course of action. Prior to that Jim’s campaign has falsely claimed that JD Hayworth personally recommended that Arizona’s citizens take their names off Jim Deakin’s petitions on Aril 7, 2010. Jim himself stated to a small group that, in fact he had a video of JD making such a claim, but chose not to post the video. Later, Jim stated online that Steven Robinson lied about this statement, and denied making that claim. After numerous requests for Jim to correct the record by local constituents, that went ignored; “I determined my responsibility was to my potential future constituents and therefore disassociate myself from the Deakin Campaign. I will no longer support, or campaign for Jim Deakin and I would ask that he remove my name from any website or campaign literature”.

“In my campaign for US Congress District 2, I have strived to maintain complete respect and integrity in my challenge of the incumbent Trent Franks, whom I respect highly. We have our differences, which is why I’m in the race. I have worked diligently to maintain my reputation and conduct myself to the highest ethical standards. This decision, though very difficult, due to the friendship developed over the four months was best for myself, my family, my state and country”.
